I've recently discovered a new band who is destined to be on your fall playlist when their debut record, Room To Run, hits stores. States is an unsigned, five-piece band including former members of both Lydia and Copeland. Mindy White is the lead vocalist and frontwoman for States accompanied by her band composed of Stephen Laurenson, Bryan Laurenson, Jonathan Bucklew, and Dean Lorenz.
It didn't take States long to release their first EP as a band in the fall of 2010. The Line 'Em Up EP made its official debut on October 12 which featured six songs including "Anxious" and "Generation". States steadily built a fanbase both online and around the country by stay connected to their fans with Stickam chats and acoustic performances. The band also embarked on various tours throughout North America to support the release of the Line 'Em Up EP.
Just a little under one year later, States are about to release their debut album, Room To Run. The band has been hard at work in the studio since early 2011. To get fans geared up for the record, States posted a series of studio updates which eventually led to anticipated announcement about official details for Room To Run. Not too long after the first single, "Timebomb", surfaced on September 8 and recieved positive feedback with nearly 10,000 views on YouTube.
Still a relatively new band, States is band that's definitley on the rise and I can't wait to hear Room To Run when it officially hits stores this October. I guarantee you this won't be the last time you'll be seeing States, so keep your eyes peeled and your ears ready for some new music!
